The Australian artistic swimming team has shown remarkable progress, achieving their highest-ever score at the World Championships in Doha in February and securing three medals at the World Cup in China shortly thereafter.
The duet participants for the upcoming Games are yet to be announced. The team is under the guidance of coach Paula Klamburg from Spain, who won a team bronze medal at the London 2012 Olympics.
Artistic swimming has been part of the Summer Olympics since 1984, initially featuring women’s duet and solo events. For the Paris 2024 Olympics, the competition will include two medal events: duet and team.
Despite Australia’s impressive record of 210 Olympic medals in swimming, they have yet to win a medal in artistic swimming. The artistic swimming events at Paris 2024 are scheduled to take place from August 5 to August 11 at the Paris Aquatics Centre.
