Netflix plans: Netflix has cut prices in India. Check out the new price
Streaming giant Netflix announced on Monday that it will reduce prices for all plans. Prices now start at 149 rupees instead of 199 rupees. This price cut comes in fierce competition with other streaming platforms that offer plans for significantly less than Netflix. A 25% price cut across all four plans in India indicates that the streaming giant has made a second price cut in India. Netflix launched the cheapest plan for India in July 2019 for Rs 199 per month. According to industry experts, this has allowed it to win subscribers on the streaming platform.
The basic plan for viewing on mobile phones, tablets, computers, and TVs have been reduced from the previous 499 rupees to 199 rupees per month.
A better standard plan can be viewed on all four devices. Video quality and 1080p resolution are now available for 499 rupees instead of the previous 649 rupees per month. The Top Tier Plan or Premium Plan is available on all four devices, but offers the best video quality with 4K + HDR video quality and is now available for 649 rupees instead of 799 rupees per month.
The new plan will come into effect on December 14.
Please note that at this point, only those who coexist with the plan’s users can access the account. At the premium rate, four people can watch TV at the same time from one account, but at the standard rate, two people can watch TV at the same time, and at the basic rate and mobile rate, only one person can watch TV at the same time.
“So, whether you’re watching with your family or alone, Superhero Story (Minnal Murali), Genre Trend Series (Yeh Kaali Kaali Ankhein), Dramady (Separation), Family Drama (Finding Anamika) ), In the mood of a thriller (Looop Lapeta) or comedy special (Kapil Sharma), as well as movies and series around the world, there’s something for everyone, “says it. Price cuts are also taking place as the American streaming giant has announced many new international and Indian titles such as Red Notice, The Harder they Fall, The Princess Switch, Dhamaka, and Meenakshi Sundareshwar. R Madhavan and Surveen Chawlastarrer Decoupled will be released in December.
Meanwhile, competitors like Disney + Hotstar offer a premium plan of Rs 1,499 per year. Amazon Prime Video membership fee is Rs 1,499 per year.
The price cut will also occur when rival Amazon Prime raises its annual plan from 999 rupees to 1,499 rupees. The simplest Netflix Mobileonly plan currently costs around Rs 1,800 a year, so the gap is narrowing. However, Amazon Prime does provide other additional features such as free delivery and music services. “Currently, the average price of the annual plan of OTT apps in Japan is about 500 rupees in total / subscribers. Even in the basic plan, the price of Netflix is almost three times as much as 1,800 rupees,” said Elara Capital’s SVP. Karan Taurani, also a research analyst, said. Taurani says
Netflix has a market share of about 36% in India’s SVOD market as it is the most dominant provider of pureplay video-on-demand services. “Netflix has nearly 214 million paying subscribers, many of them from developing countries that are most pervasive. Therefore, if India expands its subscriber base, India will be Netflix. Provides a great opportunity for you. India offers great market opportunities with numerous penetration opportunities in Tier 2 and Tier 3 cities. With more smartphone users and lower data prices, this is certainly a market that will help expand Netflix’s subscriber base over the medium to long term, “he said.
